Sacredness Of The Human Body
“The moment I have realized God sitting in the temple of every human body, the moment I stand in reverence before every human being and see God in him - that moment I am free from bondage, everything that binds vanishes, and I am free.”
The physical body is a vessel, a transitory manifestation of the densest form, an abode for Spirit to reside in and express its divine consciousness through it (human form). There is an understanding among many truth seekers on a spiritual path that life is an illusion to be temporarily engaged in, a hologram projection of vast consciousness (wrote a separate post on it). Well, in this case, I couldn’t help posing these questions: Does the transitory nature of our existence give us a green light to DISREGARD THE PHYSICAL BODY as not that important? In other words, why bother with the body when one day it’s going to rot away? I have come across similar questions, statements, and attitudes regarding the disregard of the physical body among those on a spiritual path.
Christopher Pointdexter said: “So let me get this straight, down to the marrow of the bone, to the monstrous unsavory truth; we breathe air in a world where the people are more obsessed with gorgeous bodies that one day rot away, than gorgeous souls that weep handsomely like violins into infinity? My God little precious creatures, we, yes we, you and I and he and she, have so many things wrong.“ Absolutely love how poetically and romantically the author expressed his thought... yet while reading it, a part of it did not resonate, there was a resounding NO coming from within me, a NO to: "We breathe air in a world where the people are more obsessed with gorgeous bodies that one day rot away, than gorgeous souls that weep handsomely like violins into infinity."
For the purpose of clarity, it's not a criticism of Pointdexter's poetic work; I'm merely using his quote to illustrate my point. There is a clear divide here Body/Soul, with a preference of focus on the Soul; Most certainly, there has been a clear obsession with body image and the body itself in today's world, mostly driven by compulsive or distorted behaviors of the Ego, as well as following outside sources- media, gurus and the like that might not have our best interests at heart. However, that's not the point of this post. The issue is the notion of divide/separation. In the old paradigm of New Age (old programming) the aspects of spiritual and physical were treated as separate; there was a disconnect; preoccupation with the body was frowned upon, it was rather unseemly to engage in the matters of the body. It was Spiritual vs. Physical; as if they were mutually exclusive while in fact they are not. The disconnect was a result of long-held beliefs imprinted in our fields, frozen in time; those beliefs were like giant walls that kept us separated. However, that's changing; the walls are coming down and the bridge is finally emerging linking both worlds, as we are moving beyond the ideas of separation. Throughout our human history, we have been on both ends of the spectrum, we played the duality game, focusing on either/or, black or white, with no allowance for shades of gray. This perception is dissolving.
Barbara Marciniak in her book “Bringers of the Dawn” said: "When you go to a Chinese restaurant, you eat Chinese food; you don't order a hamburger. When you go to an Italian restaurant, you order lasagna. This restaurant called Earth has a physical body, so that is how you must operate here- within a physical body.“
It has been my understanding through my own journeying inward: the physical body matters, in spite of the fact life is a transitory experience. We are performers, actors on the cosmic stage, and our human form is the vehicle through which this expression gets to happen… so DO NOT neglect the physical body thinking it inferior to your Spiritual one. It’s not! We can sometimes get caught up in spiritual arrogance by weaving a trap difficult to get out of. Let go of old beliefs. The human body is an expression of Consciousness itself permeating the body. The Human Body is Sacred. As we continue to integrate more soul energies within our physical body, it is going to be affected in profound ways. There will be no more neglecting, abusing, belittling of the body. We will, individually and collectively develop a deeper appreciation for what the physical body does for us, in a more grounded way. We will finally learn to tune into our bodies and listen deeply instead of giving power away. The integration/merger of Souls fractals and Spirit within our bodies is already happening. With it comes wisdom to care for, cherish, nourish, and honor the physical, all done under the guidance of higher aspect, the wisdom of the heart instead of Ego dictating the rules. You will find an equilibrium between the two. No more swinging from one end of the spectrum to the other one. The human body works best when in homeostasis. IT. IS. ALL. ABOUT. BALANCE! Find it. In words of Bentinho Massaro: "Bodies are the pens with which Consciousness writes its odes to the absolute." So a question to you Dear reader: Would you like to have that pen ready-to-go, in a great condition, filled with ink to the top to"write odes to the absolute” ??? It’s your journey, your story - decide how epic you want it to be. While you're at it HONOR. YOUR. PROCESS.
