Tribute to Cecil The Lion

Love is an active power in man.

Gosh those beautiful eyes, grace, power, and intelligence behind them, Spirit starring at you in the face. When I took a look at these two images of Cecil the Lion, the iconic collared Lion from Zimbabwe's National Park I burst into tears. I cried my eyes out. Felt such deeply profound sadness and pain in my heart, it permeated my body. Tears just kept rolling and I made no attempt at trying to stop them. What an awful, awful tragedy! Yet, an attempt is being made at justifying “the legality of the kill”. We, humans can go to great lengths to justify our actions, sort of cherry picking that, that suits us best. Cecil wasn’t a trophy. He was a fellow sentient being, animated by Spirit, just like you and I. Spirit comes in many forms, not just two legged ones; it imbues with its essence All That Is, and Cecil was part of this giant web of life. The sacred connection runs deep, and it runs amongst all of us, even if some have yet to see or feel it.

Such a magnificent animal lost its life at the hands of man whose heart is yet to awaken to heart-centered consciousness. I chose not to cast any judgment upon this man. I send love, may the light crack the hardened shell/wall he built around his heart… I chose LOVE, because “Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible - it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could.", as Barbara De Angelis said. The world doesn’t need more “revenge” type of energy projected into the collective, we’ve had enough of it! A barrage of irate online posts will not do it either. Though I very much understand the raw emotions. As Matt Kahn says: “we need more love and not less” or A.D Williams: “big hearts will bring us more peace than big weapons.” Unconditional love is a domain of an open and pure heart. Only Love is going to transform this world into one in which we respect one another, revere all beings, and see/feel the interconnectedness amongst all of us. That’s the world I imagine into existence where love, unity, harmony, and peace reigns supreme. Care to join me?

Cecil The Lion, I bow in reverence to your Spirit.
I love You, I'm sorry, Please forgive me.

With a LOVEing Heart, Anna
