Are you on a mission to loose weight?

Do you think of cutting calories back in order to lose weight? But are you thinking as much of quality as you do of quantity? Yes, food is a tool to lose weight but it also fuels your daily activities and bodily functions. A balance is important: eat enough to keep you satisfied but not stuffed so your body can function at its optimum. Think nutrient-dense foods, foods that will provide your body with the best quality of macro and micronutrients, particularly if you're on a restricted-calorie diet. A lot of times, people jump on a "new diet wagon", cut calories significantly and expect to last on it forever. But what they fail to recognize is that they set themselves for disappointment. If you're on a mission to lose weight, it is as much about calories in versus calories out as it is about a maximum emphasis on healthy foods. For the argument's sake, let’s say that in order to lose weight you're going to eat 1500 calories a day in a form of white bread, white rice, sugary cereal in the morning, little veggies, and fruits. If you don't go over that number, you will loose weight but how healthy will you be??? It is vital that you are aware of the calories but also the nutrient content of the foods you're eating. It's detrimental to your health, your growth, energy level and your overall well-being! You might have heard that before but YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!
